You obviously need concrete for casting the concrete worktop. When using the Countertop edge forms, you need two 25 kilo bags of concrete for each 60×100 cm area. So if you are making a four meter worktop, you need 8 bags of concrete.
With the help of the Countertop forms you can cast your worktop directly in place. You no longer need to wait weeks for the concrete to dry before lifting the worktop on top of the cabinets. Forms can be snapped off already after one day from pouring and the worktop can be finished. The concrete will continue drying from the bottom.
When mixing concrete, the amount of water is essential. Always read the manufacturers recommendations on the water amount – this way you ensure the best possible durability. We recommend that you make a few test casts to ensure the correct consistency and color. You can make the casts for example in plastic freezer containers. 5 cm thick cast in a 15×25 cm container will dry up by the following day.
The good thing about conrete is that you do not need to hurry. After mixing the concrete, you have approximately two hours before the concrete surface begins to harden. This gives you plenty of time to level the surface, vibrate the form and make sure that there is enough concrete in all corners of the form. You get more time to finalize the surface by spraying it with water.
